You've Worked Hard All Year...

Published: Sat, 11/04/17

Hi ,

It’s November; you’ve worked hard all year. Trust me, you deserve a break - you deserve to do something special with your spouse in the coming weeks.

Here’s an idea: Plan a romantic, home-cooked meal and serve their favorite food. (This is for you even if you don't like to cook. Please keep reading.)

Your Romantic Meal Game Plan

1.  Put it on the calendar.

Time has a way of getting away from us during the holidays. Review your calendar and schedule this today.

2. Pick a recipe OR meal delivery service.

Find your recipe(s) and plan a trip to the market.

OR, and I think you’ll really like this, order your partner’s favorite meal from their restaurant and have it delivered.

3. Timing…

Try to have the meal prepared and everything ready by the time your partner comes home so YOU can relax and enjoy the evening too.

4. Visual Feast…

Make it romantic.

We’re talking table cloths, flowers, candles, maybe some soft dinner music.

And those plates and utensils you’ve been saving for the Queen's visit? Use them. Your spouse is the only VIP that counts.

5. Dress up

You might even consider switching out your sweats and sneakers for slacks and dress shoes, or a favorite dress.

Consider dressing up as if you were visiting your favorite restaurant (assuming your favorite restaurant isn’t taco bell…).

6. Get rid of distractions

Lastly, eliminate distractions.

We’re talking phones and other electronic devices.

All you really need is some dinner music playing softly in the background.

Usually people are so busy doing nice things for others they rarely have time to do anything nice for themselves.

So, during this holiday season, carve out a little bit of time to do something extra special for you and your spouse. You're worth it and deserve it. Besides, you've earned a break because you've worked hard all year.

Until next time, this is Mike Tucker and I want YOU to be mad about marriage!
