Here’s something married couples rarely do, except the romantic ones, dress up!
We’re talking black tie attire and fancy gowns - something you’d wear to a gala or special event like a benefit.
New couples enjoy special romantic nights out on the town because they feel like it brings them closer together. But why should they have all the
fun!
Dress Up
It’s okay with your spouse that you dress in jeans and a sweatshirt. But most spouses tell me how much they would really enjoy seeing their partners dress up every now and then.
When going out with your spouse for a night on the town, you should dress to impress him or her. So if you don’t already know what outfit your partner likes to see you in, ask.
Be willing to
make changes based on their opinion.
Men should at least wear a clean, ironed shirt and some dress pants. However, if you really want to impress, go for black tie attire – a tuxedo with a bow tie, if the event calls for it.
Women, on the other hand, can wear an evening gown. The formality of the gown will depend on the evening’s event.
If you’re attending a gala or an opera, you will want to
dress more formally than if you were simply going to your favorite restaurant, obviously.
How to Rekindle a Marriage with a Night Out
Having a night out is all about enjoying each other’s company in a pleasant environment.
Here are some suggestions of fun environments to consider but remember to dress appropriately because some of these places are pretty casual unless advertised otherwise:
A gala or opera within an hours’ drive from your home. Alternatively, if you both enjoy classical music, attending the symphony together might be a good bonding experience.
Karaoke night is another good idea for couples who enjoy singing and taking up new challenges
together. Remember, it’s not about how well you can sing but
about having fun!
Comedy night followed by dinner is also not a bad idea. Laughing at jokes will help both of you to loosen up so that you can enjoy
your dinner together a lot more.
A romantic dinner accompanied by some live music creates a romantic and cozy environment for your enjoyment. Best of all, you can pick a restaurant that plays the kind of music that you or your partner enjoy.
Finally a night picnic is perfect for lovers of the outdoors. For instance, you could decide to go to the beach and pick up some food or pizza on the way. If you like, bring some music to set the mood for your night out. Although you won’t need to wear black tie attire for this event, try to do something special with how you dress for the
occasion.
We seem to live in an anything goes kind of culture these days, which is absolutely okay. But there’s still something pretty special about seeing your partner dressed in their very best just for you.
