How do you personally deal with difficult situations?
When surveyed, a majority of people in the United States say that faith is their top coping mechanism.
That
being said, do faith and prayer have any beneficial impact on marriage?
Does spirituality play an important role in having and maintaining a healthy relationship?
Gayle and I think so; we believe marriage was created by God.
It’s a beautiful
and precious gift.
If your relationship is in trouble, and you’re open to the spiritual dimension of marriage, we invite you to consider praying this simple prayer:
“God, thank you for the precious gift of love. I seek your divine wisdom and power for my marriage. Please show me how to improve my relationship with my spouse. Thank you for your healing grace, and for hearing and answering my prayer. Amen.”
(You might even consider inviting your spouse to pray with you.)
Hearing your
spouse pray for you will melt your heart – and the same for them when they hear you praying praying for them.
But as you pray for your marriage, or the marriage of someone close to you, remember that people have free will. They are free to choose what
they will or will not do, ultimately.
But take hope in the promise from Romans 8:28 that God works all things out for the good of those who love Him.
He collects the pieces of broken relationships and, through His amazing grace, offers to make something positive come from the disappointment and heartache.
Remember, God is on your side.
Your marriage matters and is worth improving and saving.
Gayle & I believe that it is by celebrating the spiritual side of marriage that we can make our love last forever.
We believe you can, too.
Until next time, this Mike & Gayle Tucker and we want YOU
to be mad about marriage!
