Incompatibility Myth

Published: Fri, 12/27/13

Dear ,

I wanted to share this quote from  Leo Tolstoy
as you reflect on 2013 and prepare
for the year
ahead:

"What counts in making a happy marriage is
not so much how compatible you are, but how
you deal with incompatibility."

How did you deal with incompatibility
challenges in 2013?

Did you slip into silent mode and ignore
the problem?

Did you erupt like Mount St. Helens in a
fury of molten anger and stinging words?

Did you sink into a defeated spirit of denial
and succumb to an attitude of indifference?

Well remember this: The past doesn't equal
the future.

Your marriage is good enough to save, and you
have what it takes to deal
constructively AND
productively with
any compatibilities that might exist.

There is no perfect marriage because there
are no perfect people.

Every marriage has its share of conflict and problems.

Every marriage takes hard work to be healthy,
happy and strong.

And every marriage can be strengthened, more
deeply nurtured, and improved.

So don't fret  about your incompatibilities in 2014  --
and certainly don't throw your marriage
away
because of them!

Instead, deal with them because this is the
pathway to a happy and fulfilling marriage.

Until next week, this is Mike & Gayle Tucker
and we want you to be mad about marriage!
