How often do you pray for your spouse?
What do you pray? Do you ask God to change
your spouse?
And by "change" I mean turn you spouse into
the kind of person you want them to become.
It's okay to pray for God to transform our spouse's
heart because this is for their benefit. But it's a much
different thing to ask God to "change" our spouse
for our benefit.
Consider praying this prayer instead:
"Dear Heavenly Father, please bless my spouse
today."
Asking God to change your spouse for your benefit
is kind of a me-focused prayer But when you ask God
to bless your spouse for their benefit, you're praying a
selfless, grace-filled prayer.
Practicing this week's marriage tip will
add a new dynamic to your marriage. In
fact, it's a catalyst for changing you, and
for transforming your relationship.
