Start Over?

Published: Fri, 06/07/13

Everyone who gets married hopes for lasting happiness. So,
just how happy is your marriage?

(I promise you, it can be a lot happier even if you think it's pretty
happy right now. I'll give you 7 tips in a minute.)

It's important to remember that there is a difference between
lasting happiness and perfect happiness. Sometimes, couples
confuse the two.

We are imperfect people - which means we lack the capability
to be the perfect spouse. We have faults, flaws and short
comings - and this is okay!

So instead of looking or waiting for "perfect" happiness, maybe
we should work towards building lasting happiness with our
spouse. What do you think?

If you've been married for any length of time, then you
know how marriage changes. But irrespective of ALL
of that stuff, you and your spouse can do something
pretty amazing today:

You can decide to start over.

You and your spouse can choose right now to give yourselves
and marriage a new beginning.

All of your yesterdays do not equal all of your tomorrows.

So, before Gayle and I give you seven great tips for
starting over, we invite you to start over.

Are you willing to give your marriage a new beginning -
a fresh start?

I know you are. And we're so happy for you.

So, here are 7 (count 'em) seven quick and fun ways to
start over and begin building lasting happiness with
your spouse:

  1. Become the change you want your marriage to be
  2. Renew your commitment to the marriage - divorce is not an option.
  3. Forgive, forget, go forward!
  4. Flirt, touch, and engage in public displays of affection.
  5. Affirm your spouse's special qualities.
  6. Catch your spouse doing something good.
  7. Dream again - and work together to make your dreams of lasting happiness come true.
That's it for this week's marriage tip. Until next time this is
Mike & Gayle Tucker, and our deepest desire is for you to be
and to say madly in love!
