This Is SO Sad

Are there any forms of violence in your marriage?

There's more to violence than just physical violence.

I don't want to scare you or cause any trouble, but is
it possible that you could
be unaware of the subtler kinds
of violence
that might be present in your marriage to
some degree
?

So much has been said lately about domestic violence -
and rightly so. Husbands and wives
should NEVER be
physically abusive to their
spouses.

But just so you know, there are many forms of domestic
violence.

Some of these include: biting, slapping, punching,
kicking and hitting.

Statistics show that domestic violence in the form of
physical abuse is higher among men than women,
but
we know wives who have been violent to their husbands

in a physically abusive way, too.

Just because a man can "absorb the punches" doesn't
means it's okay to physically abuse him.

Either way, even one case of domestic violence in the
form of physical abuse is one too many.

There is NO room in marriage for any kind of domestic
violence from either a man or a woman.

I'd like to broaden your thinking this week about domestic
violence.

I'm of the opinion that there are many more kinds of
domestic violence than just physical abusiveness.

Other kinds of domestic violence include:

Emotional, spiritual, mental, and sexual abuse.

I wrote a blog post on domestic violence today that I'd
like for you to read. In it, I give examples of some of

these other kinds of domestic violence that I think
might be very revealing:

THE MANY FACES OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

If nothing else, you might discover that you have a
close friend or loved one who is in a violent relationship
that they are totally unaware of and YOU might be able
to help them.

Here's what I know for sure:

There is NEVER an excuse for violence. And violence
is never the fault of the victim. Abusers are broken people
who need help.

So, if you you are in an abusive marriage and are the
victim of domestic violence, please find help immediately
if you or others in your family are in physical danger.

Also, please know that you do not deserve to be
treated abusively. It's not your fault and you deserve
better. Much better.

You are not alone. People are here to help you. But
if you think you, or someone you know,  might be in
a marriage where a form of violence might be present,
take 3 minutes right now to read my post and the three
steps for starting the process to save/heal an
abusive marriage.

THE MANY FACES OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Until next week this is Mike and Gayle Tucker
and we want you to be madly in love.
