It's wrong. How people think of marriage today.
 
Know what they think?
 
That commitment is a contract.
 
"I'll commit if you commit" they say.

I'll stay committed as long as you do."
 
This is wrong.
 
Marital commitment isn't a contract, it's a covenant.
 

What's the difference? Covenant says, "I commit period!
 
So what would you rather have?A marriage that
has the feel of a contract or a covenant?
 
I guess it depends on whether you're looking
for a business partner or a soul mate.
 
But I'll tell you one thing. It sets the tone for
your whole marriage.

Couples in a "contractual" relationship have
a much different kind of marriage than
couples in a covenant-based relationship.
 
So what's this week's tip exactly?
 
Simply this.
 
Take charge - own your role in your
relationship.
 
Decide that your "participation" in the
relationship is covenant-based - that
you are committed no matter what.
