Marriage is filled with hardships, surprises (not always the good kind) and disappointments.
Many spouses go searching for greener grass before doing everything possible to save their marriage.
Greener grass is an illusion; it doesn’t exist because every human being
you'll ever meet is imperfect.
The greenest grass is that which is fertilized, weeded and watered.
Think about it,
wouldn't it be smarter to invest your effort and energy in healing and nurturing your existing relationship instead of starting all over with a total stranger?
Don’t End Your Marriage Just Yet
You'd regret calling it quits over issues that can be remedied by counseling, which include:
Lack of Intimacy
Lack of intimacy isn’t reason enough to call it quits. Despite intimacy issues, most spouses still enjoy their spouse’s company. This alone should be enough motivation to save your marriage, or at least try.
Lack of Communication
Married
couples have disagreements; always have always will.
Just because you and your spouse aren’t communicating well right now doesn’t mean your marriage is doomed. Keep working on it; hone your communication skills. Things will get better.
Dwindling Passion
Has the honeymoon phase of your relationship faded?
Just because there are fewer fireworks now than at first, doesn’t mean your spouse loves you any less. It’s just that the initial hormone-induced excitement has
subsided; you’ve settled into your relationship.
Marital happiness does exist beyond the honeymoon phase. As long as you care deeply for each another, the romantic spark can be rekindled.
Perhaps your marriage isn’t what you imagined. And maybe you've had many more painful moments along the way than expected. But your marriage is good enough to save. So don’t throw it away by thinking you'd be happier in someone else's arms.
Unless you're in an abusive marriage, almost everything else can be worked out as long as you’re both committed to the marriage and are willing to seek the help you need to save your relationship.
