Have you wondered if maybe people say “I love you” a little too much?
Think about it.
People say it to end phone conversations, or when leaving for a couple hours to run errands. Even happily married couples say it all the time.
But, are there different ways to say, “I love you” to make the message you're trying to communicate more special?
(Please don’t get me wrong. I’m NOT in any way suggesting you should stop saying “I love you.”)
Other Ways to Say I Love
You
Sticky notes…
If saying “I love you” is beginning to feel less special, why not write it on a sticky note?
Simply write, “I love you”, or mix it up a little bit by using other romantic phrases such as “hello gorgeous”, “you’re my world”, “can’t be without you”, "you make me happy," and so on.
Leave the note in a place where your spouse will find it,
like the refrigerator door, bathroom mirror or kitchen table.
Love songs…
If you can sing or play an instrument, have you ever sung or played a love song to your
partner?
Or, and this is super easy, leave a love song in their car’s CD player so it’s the first thing they hear when they start the engine.
Write it in unusual places…
If you’re feeling really creative, why not write your message on their car window, or leave it under the wipers, or draw a heart on a foggy bathroom mirror?
Here’s a another idea if you happen to have some extra money lying
around that you don’t know what to do with (yeah right).
Hire a skywriter, yes, a skywriter, to write a special message in the sky to celebrate a very special occasion or milestone.
Other creative ways to say I love you...
• Share a few minutes of uninterrupted eye contact
• Give them a photo book of special times as a gift
• Draw a heart in your spouse’s latte
• Make your partner a handmade
card
• Do all the chores and give your spouse a day off
Couples often complain about feeling they're in a rut. Saying “I love you” so often that it becomes generic is kind of like a rut too.
But, it’s a rut from which you can easily break free simply by being a little more creative in how you say, I love you.
