Okay. I know this topic is taboo and could get me in trouble.
Dancing.
For years, dancing has been, well, frowned upon by Churches and
people of faith. But, is there anything good about dancing, and can spouses enjoy this activity without risking being being shunned by their friends and family? Maybe.
Is there anything good about dancing?
Fitness - Dancing can be pretty good exercise.
After a
hectic day, most people feel they don’t have the time or energy to work out. And although dancing is a workout, it doesn’t feel like work because it’s fun.
Dancing burns calories, relieves stress and improves your strength and flexibility. It involves collaborative interaction between two people and can be more fun than taking a walk or going to the gym together. Dancing is an activity that
challenges your body and mind.
Communication – While dancing, partners constantly communicate with each other through body movements. One partner (usually the man) leads the dance while the other follows.
The leader must give clear and distinct signals and the follower must
listen carefully for these signals and respond to them.
Romance – Dancing involves a lot of touching, moving and holding which is great for romance and spicing up a marriage.
Confidence – Most people get a confidence boost from learning to dance. Learning something new and
enjoyable with your partner is exciting. When you feel confident, you’re more at ease with yourself and your spouse.
Slow dance with your spouse
You may enjoy a slow dance with your spouse in the comfort and privacy of your own home with no one around to watch, judge or
condemn.
Just move the furniture out of the way, light some candles and play your favorite romantic music. Just you and your spouse. No DJ or other other couples to bump into accidentally. And you'll never have to worry about what anyone thinks, either.
Don’t have a plan for this week’s date
night? Then maybe consider a special evening of slow dancing with your spouse in the warmth and privacy of your home.
Until next week, this is Mike Tucker and I want YOU to be mad about marriage!
