Love coupons. Since people make fun of them sometimes, I was curious: are they just a cheesy romantic idea or something people are really interested in?
So I fired up Google and searched "Love Coupons." Turns out, 10,900,000 people are searching for love coupons!
A love coupon is a romantic promissory note - an “I owe you” between two people in love. With the coupon, the giver promises to pamper the recipient at a time in the future.
You can create your own unique coupons or download them from the internet. Obviously the advantage of homemade coupons is that they can be personalized with your partner’s favorite colors and photos.
Ideas for love coupons...
When creating a romantic coupon book, focus on pleasing your partner.
Don’t offer a massage coupon if what he really wants is a clean car; offer to wash his car instead.
Same is true for her. Don't give her a massage coupon if what she really, really wants is a day away from the kitchen and dishes; offer to do those things instead.
The sky is the limit with love
coupons. You can offer a day off from chores, turn your bathroom into a spa-like experience with candles and run a luxurious hot bath, go on a shopping spree, plan a movie marathon of their favorite films, enjoy a night of cuddling or a weekend getaway. Be creative. Make it fun!
Keep in mind that once you've given the coupon to your partner, you have no control over when they will redeem it
because they get to choose the date.
So don’t make any promises that you can’t keep because of your schedule, or will be grumpy about; try to choose something you'd actually enjoy doing for your partner.
Surprise your partner
When you're done creating the coupons, make it fun by hiding it in a place where your spouse is sure to find it.
Every once in a while, if you’re daring, give your
spouse a blank coupon and let them fill it in.
If your spouse is stuck at work, put a smile or his or her face by emailing them a coupon and give them something to look forward to.
Don’t be offended if your loved one wants to exchange their coupon for something that they really need or want right
now; leave room for room exchanges because this is about meeting their needs and doing something special for them.
With February 14 being just a few days away, consider using love coupons to add a little more joy and happiness to your partner’s life.
Until next time, this is Mike Tucker & I want YOU to be mad about marriage!
